When I log into my ftp directory I see a bunch of folders which I haven’t created. Can we remove them?

No. Those folders are related to FrontPage extensions.
If you are not using FrontPage extensions, you can uninstall it through your cPanel. If you don’t have any idea about how to do it, submit a ticket and we will assist you in this issue. As a general rule, never remove files or folders unless you are sure what you’re doing.
