  • 2083 cPanel SSL TCP inbound
  • 2086 WHM TCP inbound
  • 2087 WHM SSL TCP inbound

  • 2096 Webmail SSL TCP inbound

If your server’s IP address is blacklisted in anti-spam database, any e-mail you send will be bounced back. Below is an example:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
accounts@micfo.com
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO: host micfo.com [67.15.54.13]:
550-Message rejected because manou.micfo.com [69.20.54.201] is blacklisted at
550 bl.spamcop.net see Blocked - see http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?69.20.54.201

In this case please send a support ticket to Technical Department or follow steps listed below:

1. Got to www.spamcop.net.
2. Input your server IP address (ex. 67.15.54.13) and click on “Lookup Another”.
3. If the IP address is not listed, that means the IP address has already been removed from the database. You need to allow 24 hours for this to reflect globally.
4. If the IP address is listed, in order to get the IP removed please follow these steps:

a) Go to ORDB.org
b) From the left handside menu click on “Test an open relay”
c) Input server’s IP address as “Hosts/IPs”
d) input emails@micfo.com as e-mail.
e) Click on “Submit Hosts for testing”

Allow up to 48 hours and the IP will be removed automatically.

You can use your IP if you have dedicated IP,

OR

You can use the main server IP (IP used for FTP hostname).

OR

you can use:
SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com
POP3: mail.yourdomain.com

This problem occurs usually due to the mail client — e.g. MS Outlook or Outlook Express. So please check these following issues and make sure it is correctly set up.

1. The incoming mail server needs to be typed correctly.
Solution: Go to Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Servers
Change the incoming server (POP3) to: ‘mail.yourdomain.com’

2. The POP3 account name as well as the POP3 password needs to be typed correctly.
Solution: Go to Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Servers
Retype both the account name and the password.

The primary account username will be ‘username’. But if you’ve created an alternative e-mail using your cPanel then the username for the POP3 mail server will be ‘username@yourdomain.com’

3. It may be that POP3 is using the wrong port number.
Solution: Go to Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Advanced.
Change the incoming server (POP3) port number to 110.

4. Check whether Outlook Express is trying to use SSL:
Solution: Go to Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Advanced
Uncheck the option to use Secure (SSL).

5. Outlook Express may be set up to use Secure Password Authentication.
Solution: Go to Tools > Accounts > Mail (tab at the top of the new window) > Double click on the e-mail account you set up > Click on Servers (tab at the top of the new window) > Put a check in the box that says “My server requires authentication”.

6. Check whether mail servers are set correctly.
Your mail servers needs to be set as follows:

SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com
POP3: mail.yourdomain.com

7. Remove and recreate the e-mail account through your cPanel control panel and see if it works.

If this does not work, it is possible that your ISP is blocking outside e-mail servers so that you must use their outgoing e-mail servers. This is done by the ISP in an effort to block SPAM. MindSpring and AT&T are known to be ISPs which do this. If your ISP has blocked outgoing e-mail servers, you can use the Web Mail feature in your cPanel to send/receive e-mail.

If you tried all the above steps and you still get an error, then do this simple test. In Windows, hit the START button and click on RUN.
In the command bar, type this: telnet yourdomain.com 25

Observe the results. If you get this:
220-manou.micfo.com ESMTP Exim 3.36 #1 Mon, 9 Feb 2004 14:20:15 -0500
220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,
220 and/or bulk e-mail.

That means you can connect.

However, if you cannot, that means your ISP has blocked it and is forcing you to send e-mails through their ISP’s e-mail servers instead. In this case, nothing can be done from our side.

Yes, we will change MX records for you at no cost.

Once MX records get changed, another e-mail server (not micfo) will handle your e-mail, you will no longer be able to send/receive e-mail on our servers. For any e-mail related problems, you will need to contact the site that will be handling your e-mail servers, as we’ll be no longer in control of the e-mail servers.

Note: Changing the MX record may cause some problem to CGI programs using SendMail and MailFrom parameters.

You can use the following URL to access your webmail:

http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/

Make sure to include the slash ” / ” at end of the above URL address, otherwise it won’t work.

Note: You cannot login right away to NeoMail or Horde.

An e-mail account, to which all e-mail to your domain name will go, unless there is a previously created e-mail account, is the default e-mail account or catchall account.

By default the account is set to your default username. This can be changed in the Control Panel.
